Significant Issues
Numerous potential environmental issues will be addressed in the FS/EIS, and additional issues may be identified during the scoping process. Issues initially identified include:
- Biological resources, including species listed under Federal and state Endangered Species Acts;
- Geological resources, including dredging and stabilization of fill areas;
- Water and sediment quality;
- Land use and planning;
- Impacts on traffic and transportation systems, including marine navigation, railroads, roads, and the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport;
- Social and economic impacts;
- Noise;
- Air quality;
- Public facilities and services;
- Visual resources;
- Public health and safety;
- Recreation;
- Cultural resources; and
- Cumulative effects.
