Significant Issues

Numerous potential environmental issues will be addressed in the FS/EIS, and additional issues may be identified during the scoping process. Issues initially identified include:

  1. Biological resources, including species listed under Federal and state Endangered Species Acts;
  2. Geological resources, including dredging and stabilization of fill areas;
  3. Water and sediment quality;
  4. Land use and planning;
  5. Impacts on traffic and transportation systems, including marine navigation, railroads, roads, and the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport;
  6. Social and economic impacts;
  7. Noise;
  8. Air quality;
  9. Public facilities and services;
  10. Visual resources;
  11. Public health and safety;
  12. Recreation;
  13. Cultural resources; and
  14. Cumulative effects.
